Has the DNA project gotten any closer on finding who the parents are of James Shirley branch 21?

Sorry for the delay in responding.
The answer to your question is No, not yet. No indication of his ancestry beyond what we show on Branch 21 webpage.
To be honest, I doubt DNA can isolate a proof-positive parent match. There are already other branches who share the same DNA pattern as Branch 21. They could share the same parent, the same grand-parent or even the same Shirley ancestor say 200 years earlier.
That's all we know at the moment.

Not sure where to look. I am the grandson of John Levi Shirley and Anna Levina Varnadore. My father was Lewis Coleman Shirley,Sr. They were from the Chester County, South Carolina. Any help would be grateful.
