I'm an unknown Shirley

Hi I've been looking for family on my father's side for a long time. His name was Howard Richard Shirley. He was born in 1943 in Providence Arkansas. He left shortly after I was born so I've never even seen a picture of him. I once found a family tree online that had him on there and me (born 04/30/1973) listed as the unknown Shirley. My mother married when I was 6 and my stepdad immediately adopted me to change my name with the court records sealed. She could not tell me much about him when she finally disclosed any of it when I was 14. I managed to find out where he went to a trade school to be a lab tech and that he went to Bedford Indiana to work in a hospital. I only know that he died after that in July of '81. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
