I started about 25 years ago searching my family tree and quite quickly traced back to 1851, searching locally, I am located in Liverpool England.But my great,great great grandfathers marriage certificate indicated he was a mariner and his father was a farmer.Since then I found out he almost certainly died at sea. Frustratingly I was never able to get any further not knowing what part of England he came from. I did join a DNA a site at the time and over the years have had a number of "exact matches" which all trace back to a Walter Shirley born 1690. I am just hoping there might be some with a link to Walter Shirley who knows what part of England he was from, which my help with my search for my lineage. I am not sure how this works but my email.
